Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy
Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) is a therapeutic approach that leverages the unique relationship between horses and humans to promote emotional healing and personal transformation. By engaging with horses, clients can access deep body awareness, process stored trauma, and cultivate emotional clarity. The horses’ attunement to energy and emotions provides a powerful, non-verbal space for somatic exploration, fostering healing, self-awareness, and lasting change.

For over 10 years, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with horses to offer transformative, therapeutic horsemanship. As the founder of Small Strides CIC, Bristol’s leading Trauma-Informed Equine Facilitated Learning Centre. I am now taking this into my private practice to offer a more focused approach to healing trauma and attachment patterns through my bespoke EFP program and individual sessions.
The Embodied Herd: Somatic Healing & Trauma Recovery with Horses is a transformative, bespoke program designed to guide you towards creating deeper, more authentic connections, both with yourself and others. Through the lens of neuroscience, we explore how the brain builds and reshapes relationships, empowering you to break free from old patterns and foster lasting, positive change.
This holistic approach weaves together the Equsomma approach of Somatic Experiencing and Trauma Focused EFP, creating a space where deep nervous system patterns can be identified and trauma stored in the body can be processed, released, and healed.
By partnering with horses, who are deeply attuned to energy and emotions, you’ll tap into profound self-awareness, emotional clarity, and transformative breakthroughs.
The horses act as non-verbal, grounding companions in your healing journey, helping you uncover and release outdated emotional blocks and limiting beliefs. Their intuitive presence fosters a space for deep transformation, personal growth, and the ultimate liberation of emotional freedom.
